Bisham Abbey home to the community and Elite Sports

Did you know… we welcome many high-profile athletes and sports teams to Bisham Abbey?

We’re thrilled the England Women’s national football team, The Lionesses, have been hosted by the English Institute of Sport (EIS), at Bisham Abbey for their latest international camp.

Who are the EIS, we hear you ask?

The EIS are based on site here at Bisham Abbey. The EIS provide support services to British Olympic and Paralympic sports along with a select number of non-Olympic sports. The Lionesses players and coaching teams benefitted from using our world class facilities and worked with EIS support staff on areas such as training at high heat and humidity.

As part of the six-day camp, players were working on individual development plans, while those who will be heading to Tokyo this summer were also utilising innovative EIS heat tents, which replicate the temperatures predicted in Japan.

We’re also home to England Hockey, and our facilities are used by the GB Rowing Team and British Canoeing, amongst other high-performance sports.

We’re passionate about continuing to provide excellent facilities and playing our part to allow camps to run smoothly.
