It's that time of the year again when we set new goals and resolutions, and you know what's probably right at the top of everyone's list... fitness goals!
Whether you're aiming to make some gains in the gym, run your first 5k, or just feel more confident in your own skin, we've got you covered with some tips and tricks to help you turn those fitness goals into reality.
Set Realistic and Specific Goals.
Don't just say you want to "get fit" or "be healthier", but be specific about what you want to achieve. If you want to lose weight, do you have a target weight and a time frame in mind?

Monitoring this will help to keep your achievements in context, and you’ll know how far you’ve got to go to smash through your target.
Challenge yourself and mix it up.
Don't get stuck in a workout rut! Keep things interesting and challenging by trying new activities and routines. The My MORE app is perfect for this. There are seasonal fitness challenges along with our Fitter Faster training plans, to keep your workouts varied.
You could also try out a workout class. Maybe one week you're all about a high intensity class, then the next you're crushing it at a Pilates class. Exploring different forms of exercise will not only keep you engaged and excited, but also help you discover what you truly enjoy and what works best for you.
Practice Self-Care.
Taking care of your body goes beyond just physical fitness. Make sure you're getting enough rest, staying hydrated, and nourishing yourself with healthy foods.
Prioritise mental health as well, whether it's through meditation, watching your favourite TV series, or simply taking time to relax and unwind. A balanced approach to self-care will help you maintain your motivation and energy levels throughout the year.
Embrace the Journey.
Remember, progress takes time and setbacks are part of the journey. Don't beat yourself up if you miss a workout, after all it is January!
Instead, learn from it, adjust your workouts if needed, and keep moving forward. Celebrate small victories along the way and trust the process. You've got this!
Don’t let your skin and body get thirsty.
The cold weather may not make you feel thirsty, but overheated offices, central heating and public transport can all be very dehydrating. And though you may not notice it as much, you are still sweating during exercise in cold weather.
Try increasing your water intake by 500ml (the recommended daily amount is 1.5l) per day for a couple of weeks and see how it improves your concentration and energy levels.
